- Feed based on what your baby can do
What have you heard about starting solid foods?
When do other people you know start giving their babies solid foods?
Why do they start solids when they do?
What do you want to do?
Choose what and how to feed based on what your baby does, not on how old she is. Many babies are ready to start eating mushy, semi-solid foods from the spoon by the time they are 4 or 5 months old. Some babies aren’t ready until months later. Go at your baby’s rate – you will both have more fun with feeding and your baby will do better in the long run.
